Part 1: Jakob Schmitz - Stock collection containing England, Ireland, France, Belgium, Luxemburg

Jakob Schmitz, avid collector, publicist and authority on historic documents started this "Weltwirtschaft auf Wertpapieren" collection 20 years ago. In 1996 came his much recognized publication "Aufbruch auf Aktien - Vom Fernhandel zur Industrialisierung" in which he gives a detailed description of the industrial background of historic stocks and bonds, the main source of reference for most catalogue descriptions. All the 540 documents discussed in the book are up for auction. More than half of these rare and unique certificates have gone public before the beginning of the century and many are autographed by renowned personalities of the time.
